Melvin Farr was a former professional American football player who played as a wide receiver for the Detroit Lions in the NFL. He was drafted by the Lions in the first round of the 1967 NFL Draft and played for the team from 1967 to 1973. Farr was known for his speed and agility on the field, earning a reputation as a top receiver during his career. After retiring from football, Farr went on to become a successful businessman and entrepreneur, founding his own chain of car dealerships called Mel Farr Automotive Group. Farr was inducted into the Detroit Lions Hall of Fame in 2011. He passed away in 2015 at the age of 70.
